Kik Messenger arrived yesterday at the Nokia Store for our Nokia N8, C7, C6-01, E7, X7, 500, 603, 700 and 701. This is a multi-platform instant messaging much like WhatsApp advanced, which has been fully developed in Qt.
Kik Wear to chat, share photos, share with your group plan, and stay connected with people who matter most. So you can start to “Kik-ear.” Some of its most interesting features are:
- Group text messages
- Instant notification of messages sent, delivered and read
- Support to know if someone is typing a message
- Photo Sharing
- Contact tracing Kik
One of the things I like best is that we can Kik completely close the application, including background processes, unlike WhatsApp, you need another application to close if you do not want to annihilate the battery. To do this go to Settings> Help and About Us> Off Kik Messenger.
That finally appears Kik Symbian has an explanation, on which Ted Livingston, CEO of Kik, said:
Symbian was “a logical step,” given the recent return of BlackBerry device application. The company believes that to be truly multi-platform application, we can not just focus on the leaders, iPhone and Android, having to meet the comprehensive needs of the smartphone market.
There are hundreds of millions of Symbian users worldwide, and millions more are expected to reach this platform with the latest generation of Symbian devices.
That’s a huge group of users who are eager to use their smart phones in new ways. If we really change the way the world communicates, you can not ignore Symbian users.
In this first version there is a problem on some devices when installing Symbian Kik or attempt to register an account. Restart the phone and the problem disappears.
Kik Messenger is available free on the Nokia Store.
